We love Northumberland and have been many times in recent years. We always go to Holy Island for a little wonder around. The last time we went we got tickets to go into Lindisfarne Castle. It’s a great place to visit – full of history and fantastic views all around the island. We learnt there is also a walled garden on the island – apparently often missed by visitors (including us on previous visits). So this time around we also visited the walled garden.

This is the view from inside the walled garden looking out to Lindisfarne Castle on the hill. We were so lucky to see all the flowers out in full colour. It is such an insipational view I felt I had to capture it in oil pastel, to remember this view and our trip to Holy Island.
