Sue Toft

A self-taught, late starter, most of my paintings are created using acrylics or oils but I love experimenting with other media too.

My inspiration is the stunning South Yorkshire countryside on my doorstep and the dramatic beauty of the North Yorkshire coast. I love painting what I’ve seen and experienced at home or away. I aim to create a mood, a feeling, a brooding atmosphere, the play of light and shadows, or seasonal changes that evoke a sense of time and place.
