Title: Tree Study 6
Number six in a series of six pencil drawings, depicting tree roots. I was interested in the strained shapes and dramatic composition of the tree trunk and branches arching across the pathway and down the hillside. I used pencil to focus on the twisted lines and shapes, to enhance the living, and searching nature of the branches. The original drawing was exhibited at ‘The Great North Art Show’, Ripon Cathedral, 2019.
