Title: Tree Study 3
Number three in a series of six pencil drawings, depicting tree roots. I was interested in how the tree trunk and roots had grown between the rock formations. I used pencil in a unified tone to try and enhance the idea of solidity, with the tree integrating into the rocks, becoming part of the rock formation. The original drawing was exhibited at ‘The Great North Art Show’, Ripon Cathedral, 2019.
