Title: Staithes early morning
I had just arrived at Staithes and had lunch at the Cod and Lobster when the heavens opened. Rivers of water ran down the streets and through the pub window I watched the most dramatic storm ever. Lightening, thunder and high winds driving the rain against the windows made me wonder what on earth was I doing there.
The next morning I rose early and walked along the harbour wall. There was not a breath of wind, not a ripple on the sea and just one single person exercising his dog on the beach. The sound of gulls and oystercatchers echoed from the cliffs behind the houses and I knew I had to try and recreate this moment.
