Title: “Sarindar” and Lighter Refitting at Heswall

Heswall is a place where it seems that small boats have long gone to diego to die. For years it has been a source of inspiration for my work. These abandoned boats, in various stages of decay make it a sculpture park where the artworks constantly change. However the local council in its wisdom, which I am certain has nothing to do with the very expensive houses cropping up along this part of the River Dee, are intent on limiting access and clearing it.
The boat in the painting may could be mistaken as one of the abandoned boats but it is part of a long term restoration project by a young couple who have dedicated the last few years of their lives to it and educating us about its history. It took part in the D Day Landings and you can watch its restoration on YouTube “Ship happens” give it a look.
