Title: Landing Crabs at Flamborough

A kind of tribute to the patience of the locals as they go about their daily work. It is the same where ever I sit down and sketch, it doesn’t matter how busy the local fisherfolk are, visitors will stand full of curiosity right in the way of their work. To add insult to injury they often offer advice on how they should really be doing it. These people are working from a lovely coble boat – cobles’ beautiful lines have been the inspiration for artists and photographers for hundreds of years and soon they will all be gone as maintenance cost are increasingly prohibitive. I think the ladies working from this boat actually feature in a You Tube documentary about the lives of Flamborough villagers.
