Carolyn Taylor

All my life I have been interested in arts and crafts and design but I followed my creative style fully when I retired, specifically along the art path. I have used many different mediums but currently favour acrylics and charcoal. I love the textures and moods that can be produced with these in a painting and find landscapes gives me this in bucketloads. Living at the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and coast I have all the big skies and countryside at my fingertips. The constant movement of sky and water feature regularly in my work which is of a semi abstract style.

At the beginning of the lockdown for covid I was runner up in The Mails art competition which was called “Lockdown Art – Glorious Britain in Spring” which was an online exhibition supported by The Mall gallery in London. This gave me the confidence to have my own gallery exhibition at home and subsequently join East Riding Arts Society and exhibit many times with them and privately at stately home venues. I am currently awaiting to see if I’ve been successful at Hull Ferens Art Gallery’s 2024
