Sue Waind
I’ve always loved art in all its forms—paintings, pottery, flower arrangements—anything creative has always drawn me in. I feel incredibly fortunate to now be able to enjoy my passion for painting in my little garden studio.
I’m a mixed-media artist with a deep love for wildflowers and bold, vibrant colours. Much of my inspiration comes from nature and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside that surrounds me—especially my own wildflower bank, which has grown beyond anything I imagined. I work mainly with acrylics, often incorporating modelling paste to add texture, because I want my paintings to invite touch and let people feel the flowers as well as see them.
I find immense joy in driving along country lanes where the hedgerows overflow with vivid, colourful flowers and foliage. They not only lift my spirits but also create wonderful habitats for wildlife.
I’m a Yorkshire lass, born in Halifax and now living in Crosshills, between Skipton and Keighley. The landscape here is truly stunning. It means so much to me when people tell me my artwork brightens their day especially when they’re going through a difficult time.
All my work is on canvas or wood panel each painting has 3 coats of satin varnish is strung ready for hanging. All artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
