I have always loved art in any form be it paintings, pottery, flower arrangements, anything goes. I now feel very lucky to be in the position where I can enjoy my passion, painting in my little studio in the garden.
I am a mixed media artist with a love of wildflowers and strong colours. My inspiration comes from nature and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside around us and lately my wildflower banking which has far exceeded my expectations. I work mainly in acrylics, but I enjoy using modelling paste to bring texture to my paintings. I love my paintings to be touched to feel the texture of the flowers.
I get immense pleasure driving down country lanes where the hedgerows are overgrown with an abundance of brightly coloured and vibrant flowers and foliage. As well as making me happy they act as home for lots of wildlife.
I am a Yorkshire lass born in Halifax but now live in Crosshills (between Skipton and Keighley). The countryside around me is simply beautiful. It makes me very happy when people say my art cheers them up if they are having a difficult day.
