Title: The Yorkshire Post Building
This image is of the Yorkshire Post Building, which I always admired when it used to exist in central Leeds. The brutalist building was designed by John Madin and opened in 1970, it was home to the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post for 42 years but was demolished in 2014 (except for the clock tower section).
This screenprint was done by myself, Leeds based illustrator Simon Lewis, in 2013.
It’s a 4 colour screenprint, each layer colour comes from a detailed fine line drawing, making it a very time consuming process, but one which I think gives the final image more depth and vibrancy.
Limited Edition run of 31
As these are original screenprints there may be very slight variations from the photo.
If you’re interested in purchasing a framed version, then please contact me, as I sometimes have a framed version available. They are very nice oak frames, and are usually £30-40 on top of the print price.
