Title: Quiet reach
In Quiet Reach, I’m drawn to the stillness of the shoreline at low tide, where land and sea seem to meet in a state of quiet uncertainty. The expansive sky opens the painting outwards, while the exposed foreground carries fragments of rock, sand and reflected light. I’ve used a restrained palette of muted blues, turquoise, ochre and earthy reds, allowing the colour to shift subtly across the surface.
Rather than describing a particular place, the painting is an attempt to capture the feeling of being there — the changing light, the openness of the horizon and the quiet tension between land, sea and sky.
