Title: Homage to the last White Heron
An imagined scene, sometime in the future, when people gather to give offerings to the very last white heron. The religious ritual communicates the depth of spiritual connection and servitude that – too late – they feel for the passing of bird life on the planet. But even with best intentions, the humans bring their destructive creativity to the heron: a platform on the riverbank, overly carved lamp stands and a huge stone archway. They destroy the heron’s habitat, in the very act of offering fealty and sustenance.
