The color combination of blue and pink has fascinated me for a while. Pink, with its warm tones, and blue, with its cool hues, help to create a sort of balance that I find visually pleasing and harmonious in the painting.

That’s what I wanted to capture in this painting: the setting sun drawing warmth from the freezing midwinter scenery of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. For a few fleeting minutes, as the sun dips below the horizon, the landscape displays unique colors, making it a brief yet beautiful moment to behold.
