Title: Bank House
This image is of Bank House, which I screenprinted in 2015. Built in 1971, this brutalist building has recently been listed and used to be the Bank of England’s regional base. I was drawn to the intricate building style, the way it overhangs creating strong shadows adding to the overall geometric pattern it gives. I’ve used 6 colours and experimented with a painted brushstroke texture for the sky.
This screenprint was done by myself, Leeds based illustrator Simon Lewis, in 2015.
It’s a 6 colour screenprint, each layer colour comes from a detailed drawing, making it a very time consuming process, but one which I think gives the final image more depth and vibrancy.
Limited Edition run of 20
As these are original screenprints there may be very slight variations from the photo.
If you’re interested in purchasing a framed version, then please contact me, as I sometimes have a framed version available. They are very nice oak frames, and are usually £30-40 on top of the print price.
