Hello, I’m Simon, since my childhood back in Manchester, I’ve always had a pencil or paintbrush in my hand. With no formal training, I would consider myself as an abstract artist, using acrylics, pastels and sometimes watercolours. I don’t always keep to a particular theme which allows me to have more freedom and flexibility.

My inspiration comes from my day to day surroundings, I love exploring new places and I am a very passionate traveller where I always take lots of photographs which fuels my inspiration. This can be from natural elements through to amazing architectural structures where light, texture and shadow take interesting form which manipulates the mind to see something different.

I love to play and experiment with colour and texture, using a multitude of tools at my disposal and sometimes just free flow or try to recreate a pattern I’ve been inspired by.

Living in Leeds area for over 25 years, settling in Roundhay, I have been lucky to take early retirement and with renewed passion, some studio space I am sharing my art with a wider audience .
