Minu Achrekar  is  an abstract landscape artist based in Leeds, Northern England

Minu  has exhibited in 4 solo and several group exhibitions. In  March 2025, she was a winner in the Artist of the season – Spring  2025 , a  curated contest by the Art from heart _ Uk (  London )  In June  2024 she won a juried award for ‘Pride in Place’ from Leeds Civic Trust and her painting was included in the Leeds city calendar .

Minu is inspired by the natural and urban landscape all around her home in Yorkshire, and her wide travels , With a background in healthcare, Minu loves to paint to connect with herself and others .She aims to celebrate  natural beauty and promote a feeling of  nostalgia . Her paintings evoke awe at human endeavour with a focus on historical cityscapes or evoke childhood memories  bringing peace and safety to the mind  with her natural landscapes . She often uses motifs such as paths, trees, the sun or moon as metaphors for positive  and guiding forces in our life. 

Minu is passionate about  the medium of alcohol inks for their vibrant results  and dynamic process. She challenges herself  with developing new techniques sometimes combining these with more traditional medium like oil paints , collage and pastels . Her signature technique is to using highly concentrated alcohol and  hairdryers etc to move the inks rather than using a brush. 

Minu has established an artistic profile in her hometown of Leeds where she has been interviewed by local radio and newspaper and was featured in Leeds city ‘ Pride in Place’ calender . She mainly exhibits in Yorkshire and London  but has also exhibited twice in the prestigious Nehru Centre,Mumbai, India and an online exhibition based in Canada . She has exhibited in the Contemporary Art Fair Harrogate , New Artist Fair London  , Fusion Art Fair Harrogate , Flux Exhibition London. Minu has also been represented in various gallery shows in Yorkshire and  with the Mint Gallery ,London at the Affordable Art Fair in Hampstead. London in 2025 . Her work is held in numerous private collections in the world , UK , USA , Canada , India , Australia and Norway. 

Minu  also holds  workshops in her home studio and surrounding areas where she teaches  painting skills to  people seeking a new interest or  a way to improve world-life balance.
