I am a Leeds (UK) based collage artist. I have been collaging in my spare time for over 10 years. I am self-taught and love how doing collage keeps me feeling present and gives me the space to wind down and relax – something that often eludes me.
I am passionate about sustainability and use recycled newspapers and magazines to create my pieces. I like to rip the paper by hand, rather than using scissors, as not only does it mean that every piece is unique, it also gives my work a rustic quality. I often create collages for friends and family, crafting pieces of pets or loved ones. I get inspiration for my collages from the world around me. I enjoy challenging myself with my collages either in terms of subject form or with colour and perspective.
Outside of doing college, I am an independent transdisciplinary scholar, exploring topics including public and oral health and sustainability. I am also actively promoting active travel, and hold the post of Running Mayor of Leeds, working with businesses and local communities to support more people to run (or walk, cycle or scoot) some of their everyday journeys, errands and commutes.
