I paint, I’ve always loved painting and drawing and have been on a self-taught journey of discovery in watercolour, oil and graphite for more than 60 years.

Despite jumping around the mediums from time to time I have settled into watercolour on handmade heavy cotton watercolour paper which is a beautiful medium to work with but very unforgiving !

Living in a northern suburb of Leeds gives me access to Lower Wharfedale within minutes and the Dales have always been a massive source of inspiration as well as the Lake District which is less than a 90 minute drive from here, but road trips aside its the local area that inspires my favourite subject of drawing and painting in watercolour the old stone built houses and village/town centres around here, a current project of mine is to record as many buildings as possible of the north Leeds suburb of Horsforth which is a dual challenge of art and local history research, lovely stuff !
