The Horsforth Walk of Art is an annual event in July which brings together artists and performers of all genres and utilises many venues (up to 80 this year) in the historical town and now suburb of north Leeds known as Horsforth.
The main hub of the weekend festival is the library on Town Street where free maps are available to follow the route which is easily walkable covering two main thoroughfares on Town Street and New Road Side, where most shop windows will be handed over to a local artist or school to display their work – don’t forget to keep checking the map en route as other venues may be on side streets too!
I’m Gary Kitchen, and I will be at venue number 10, which is Horsforth Manor Care Home, a brand new superb residential care home in which three artists (inc myself) plus one musician will be exhibiting and offering free tuition throughout the weekend. The venue is in an ideal location, situated at the junction of the two main routes (next door to KFC) We will be located in the ground floor bar/lounge area to the left of the main reception – or maybe even outside if the weather is fine!
I’ll be showing many of my Horsforth in Watercolour original works, prints and greetings cards and would love to see you there!
