I am a marine artist living near Whitby and working largely in oils.

As a sailor I spend many hours watching the sea. I love standing , buffeted by the wind, frantically sketching, trying to capture the power and fury of a stormy sea. I am fascinated by the challenge of capturing the sea in all its moods. Most of my small paintings are painted ‘en plain air’ and the larger studio work is developed from sketches, photographs and memories.

I studied History of Art at Leicester University and subsequently completed watercolour, oils and acrylics courses.

I have exhibited and sold work from many local galleries, pop-up exhibitions , art fairs in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and Staithes Festival.
