Artysmarty_mum (Ruth Boothl

Describe me, I always hate this question but I’ll try my best. I starting painting when my disability stopped me from being able to work and over time it became a way of escaping the pain my condition causes. I actually began with painting rocks and I still do that some evenings but when covid hit I was shielded and that pushed me to share my work. I starting a feed on Instagram under the alias artysmarty_mum using it to merge my art with my knowledge from my life before disability ; it because the first time in years I started too refer to myself in the here and now not the past.
My art has grown with my confidence, I love painting and when I do it’s always in an impressionist style but the core of my work is always art with a message behind it. I work alot with alcohol markers and sometimes colored pencils to add that extra flourish.
In my personal life as already stated I’m disabled, I am in a wheelchair now and have alot of pain in my joints including my hands, I’m housebound for the majority of my life especially since Covid. I also suffer from PTSD and aspergers, alongside my art I share blogs to raise awareness in hope that others in simular situations will find common ground. I’m a wife and and a Mother to a my beautiful son Eli. On a side note I’m a massive geek, I do fanart over on Instagram so if you like that come say hi.
