Hello, I am a contemporary artist based in beautiful North Yorkshire. I work from my large studio at historic Newby Hall near Ripon and with both the Moors and the Dales on my doorstep, I’m surrounded by inspiration for my paintings.
I enjoy painting wide open spaces, big skies and dramatic landscapes which capture a special quality of light. I take my inspiration from the North Yorkshire landscape, painting both landscape and seascape images which are evocative, peaceful and capture a sense of time and place. Places that feel familiar and are close to our hearts. The connection with North Yorkshire is probably obvious, this is where I live and is a landscape I adore.
I work exclusively in oils with both brush and palette knife and my work combines reference images, imagination and memories. In 2023 I won the British Contemporary Art Award following a public vote and I regularly exhibit in galleries throughout the UK. You can see more of my work on her website – andreamosey.com
