A new gallery with its own on-site picture-framing service is soon to open in Richmond, North Yorkshire and we’re looking for a clever Coordinator to run the show.

The gallery, which is called Yorkshire Art, is going to be the ‘bricks and mortar’ manifestation of a well-loved collective of artists all with links to the Yorkshire region.

www.north.art has been building a group of some of Yorkshire’s most talented artists in an ‘online gallery’ over the past 3 years. After online activities, a magazine and pop up events we are now ready to launch our own permanent gallery space in one of Yorkshire’s favourite Market Towns; beautiful Richmond.

The person we wish to appoint must be a self-starter; someone who can quickly absorb information about the artists whose work we will be displaying and selling.

Almost certainly, the successful candidate will have had retail experience and can confidently converse with the public about the Yorkshire artists in the collective.

Gallery work is only part of the brief.  Our coordinator will also need to be able to help create content for our website and magazine alongside our journalists, deal with the artists and help to further develop the Yorkshire Art online platform.  Training in this aspect of the position will be provided but a tech savvy inquisitive nature is a must.

We need someone with good administrative skills too, who can ensure that the day-to-day operation of both arts sales and the picture-framing part of the business run smoothly.

Remuneration will, on a pro-rata basis, be equivalent to a salary of £16,000 – £24,000 PA depending on experience which we appreciate isn’t a massive salary but we will be happy to discuss offering a percentage of profits to bolster the package.

The position could be part-time or full-time to suit the successful applicant, but most of the time must be spent in the gallery.  Some weekend hours will be essential.

This is a great opportunity for the right person, Yorkshire Art has big expansion plans and the right person could be in for a ‘only way is up’ career OR just a really nice part time role if so desired…..we’re all ears for the right applicant(s)

Ready to apply?  In the first instance please send an email to Tim Miller and tell him a bit about yourself and why you’d love to coordinate the Yorkshire Art Gallery in Richmond.  Make sure you include what you know about the ‘world of art’ along with a brief CV of your relevant experience.

If lockdown restrictions for non-essential shops come to an end on 12th April, this is when The Yorkshire Art gallery will make its debut performance!
