John Gamble

John Gamble works from his studio in Ilkley, drawing inspiration from classical iconography and the depiction of the figure within space. Each piece is created over a number of sessions, a slow burn, aiming to articulate feeling, leaving traces for others to gradually unpick.

After completing his MA at Leeds Arts University he co-founded Art School Ilkley a place where students are encouraged to explore and develop skills in drawing, painting and life drawing.
