Title: The Beach at Staithes
The picturesque fishing village of Staithes lies on the East Yorkshire coast and has been a haven for artists for years, including the Staithes Group, of whom the most famous member was Dame Laura Knight. It was also home to the young Captain James Cook. This scene is from a location high above the harbour looking down on the small beach. Graphite was first applied to create a grounding for coloured inks to provide substance and vibrancy before pastel was applied expressively to complete the painting.
This work is presented double mounted ready for framing. It will be dispatched cello wrapped and carefully packaged in an appropriate strong cardboard box and sent via a tracked courier.
A certificate of authenticity will be provided.
