Title: The Lady and the Humble Fox
The Lady and the Humble Fox is from my Heartland Watercolours series. This painting shows the kind of olde-world people who live in my imaginary Heartland. It stems from having a wonderful mother who was full of fairy tales and stories from her childhood in Austria, and is a distillation of everything she taught me and all those stories she told. As usual, I created the painting ‘on the go’ without any particular plan, and only when the scene had found its way onto the paper did I realise that the humble fox, sitting so attentively, was probably me!
Available as cards and giclee prints, mounted/unmounted/framed/unframed. Please be sure to contact me for options and prices.
About the Heartland Watercolours series: These paintings are very dear to me. They come from a place of imagination and joy deep inside my heart – my Heartland – and encapsulate my natural approach to drawing and painting – freehand, no planning ahead, just let my hand and brain do the talking, with my only intention being to create something new and exciting and beautiful 🙂
