Title: Ruin

*Currently at Art Unlimited Gallery in Dorset*

Part of the Destructive series of artworks, this is a piece considering our impact on things, cause and effect and various facets of destruction. The self, others, nature, the universe, etc.

As an abstract, I like to leave things fairly open to interpretation.

Let me know what it means to you…

I’ve built up parts of the piece by preparing the wood panel with papier maché under an extra layer of gesso, before painting onto it. To add yet more texture, I’ve used some impasto style painting. It’s difficult to photograph the true effect.
