Title: Family Day out at ‘Skeggy’
One of a series of paintings based on my memories of growing up in a working class northern town in the 1950’s and 60’s. Going abroad for a holiday was only for the wealthy. The rest of us would cram onto a beach somewhere. Whole families would go out on these outings. Uncles, aunties, cousins and grandparents would cram onto a coach and off we’d go.
