I am a self-taught landscape artist living in the north of England.

I paint in oils and acrylic and my paintings are inspired by hikes in the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. Landscapes can convey many things – they can convey a sense of tranquillity or, beneath a stormy sky a feeling of foreboding and drama. Often though, they communicate feelings of time, space and scale that drive us to recognise the forces of nature that have shaped our world. With my paintings I try to summon that sense of contemplation, that sense of loneliness and isolation as we try to understand our place in the Universe.
