Millie Peacock
Hello! I am Millie, a Fine Art student at Loughborough University on an Enterprise Year selling my art. My multifaceted practice includes gestural nude paintings and farmland portraiture – in conjunction with provocative, socio-political digital collage and text art.
My ambiguous gestural paintings challenge traditional ideals of female nudes through their dynamism, contemporary composition and the disruption of the viewers gaze.
Born and raised in Richmond, my farmyard portraiture homages the idyll landscape of North Yorkshire that I call home.
My University practice has a focus on defining satire and exploring art as a mechanism to protest, utilising a range of media. My work employs provocative visual concepts in seeking to confront contemporary issues. Themes of Sensationalism and Glorification are championed within my work through the appropriation of familiar iconography. My engagement with satire invites the viewer to examine the work beyond an elementary glance to understand a single interpretation.
