From the North of England, Harriet studied Textile Design at Nottingham University after completing an Art Foundation course in York. She then had a successful career in fashion; designing knitwear for the Highstreet.
Creating Wool Art is run from her Studio, at home in the countryside. Here she creates unique artworks made from 100% sustainable wool, a material that allows each subject to be brought to life in relief.
Using a combination of traditional techniques; wet felting to make her “canvass” before needle felting or “painting” in the finer detail, enables the artist to produce stunning Wool Art.
Felt, considered as the oldest known textile, is the perfect medium to depict both the countryside and its wildlife.
It is also an ecologically responsible textile which is an important for the Artist who walked away from the world of fast fashion due to the impact it was having on our planet.
