What's on

We Welcome our STAR Exhibitor and Friend, Paul Berriff OBE, to North Light.

Paul is an award-winning cinematographer and fine art photographer who has been behind the camera for 53 years.

He is currently exhibiting his work here with us at North Light, and we are truly honoured to represent him, his work, and his amazing career to date.

Our Exhibition runs from 7th October – 28th October. We look forward to seeing you here.

At 16 years old Paul began his photographic career as a press photographer on the Yorkshire Evening Post in Leeds, England. He has photographed legendary bands such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and solo pop artists, Jimi Hendrix, Roy Orbison and Marianne Faithfull.

Berriff is also a television documentary film maker and has been presented with over 18 international awards including two BAFTA’s for Best Documentary and a BAFTA nomination for Best Cinematography.

Paul has escaped death four times whilst in pursuit of the perfect image. He was blown off a volcano in Central America during an eruption, escaped from a major helicopter crash in the Scottish mountains, jumped from a sinking ship in the North Sea and was knocked unconscious and survived the collapse of the Twin Towers in New York during the 9/11 attacks.

Paul continues his work as a fine art photographer producing amazing monochrome images. His photographs have been exhibited worldwide and sought by some of the world’s top collectors. Paul still uses his film cameras he used back in the 60’s to produce his large format limited edition photographs.

Paul was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s 90th birthday honours and is also recipient of the Queen’s award for Bravery. He is currently writing a book about his adventurous career.
