Weekend course
Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April 2022
11 – 5pm

Letterpress is usually used to create multiple items, whereas a monoprint is a one off and can be a texture or mark made with ink, an ink knife, a block of type or a found object, (among others). These monoprints can then be combined with letterpress type to create a series of prints that are abstract and dynamic. This course is all about embracing the happy accident and the noise and graininess of monoprinting, and marrying it up with expressive wooden or metal letterpress type to create work with tension, drama and surprise.

The words that you use should be something that stirs the imagination or provokes a response, it can be funny, sad, poignant or personal, this will form the basis of the text portion of your print.
