Northlight Arts Centre and North Art are proud to be bring you IV – An Abstract Painting Exhibition
Four prominent North Art artists come together to create a breath-taking exhibition that will be shown in the main gallery. From powerful and immersive landscapes, alchemic and delicately layered paintings, mesmerizing patterns and multi dimensional creations.
STEVE THOMPSON: Steve Thompson is a mixed media contemporary artist, based near Harrogate in Yorkshire. Working from the studio in his garden his paintings are inspired by the world around him both at home and during his extensive traveling.
DEX HANNON: Born in 1972 in Manchester, Dex Hannon is an abstract expressionist who moves effortlessly between mediums of paint, digital, sound, and photography. Similarly to Mark Rothko and Gerhard Richter, Hannon uses music as a source of inspiration.
SIMON SB: Born in Leeds, Simon uses his deeply focussed process as a cathartic form of expression. His expressive use of colour, repetition and dots, evoke a deep emotional response.
AMANDA BURTON: Amanda searches for beauty when she paints, working in a way that respects and celebrates chance. The environment, events, relationships and feelings are always a point of reference though the paintings are not confined to them.
