My work is inspired by nature, the colours, shapes and patterns that occur as the sunlight shines through plants, trees and flowers. My work is mainly completed through the medium of reduction prints using Lino. My Lino cuts are multiple layers, I find it very hard to reduce the colours I use when drawing! So often 10 colours will be the norm when I work on one of my prints. Sometimes areas I cut away are bold and other areas may be small and intricate. I aim to try and create expressive images which have a painterly feel. I generally produce a limited edition of prints, depending on the size between 10 to 20. I also love dogs and have recently begun to do dog portraits as Lino prints, some commissioned, others generic which has allowed me to capture the characters of friends and families pets.

I did my art degree in London and I trained as an illustrator. I am a full time secondary school art teacher in Harrogate. We moved back to Yorkshire, where I grew up, from the South East 7 years ago and my love of being in Yorkshire has been my inspiration for my work.

I have a tiny studio in a lean to conservatory, which I share with lots of plants as especially during the winter and you can find me in there most weekends and holidays working on my prints.
