The Laurel Prize is funded by Poet Laureate and Yorkshire Sculpture Park friend and board member Simon Armitage with his £5,000 honorarium, which he receives annually from the Queen, a variety of additional supporters, and is run by the Poetry School, an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. It is awarded each year for the best published collection of environmental or nature poetry and this year, for the first time, welcomed submissions from all over the world.
