Title: Butcher’s Row
Butcher’s Row is a lively section of Leeds market where all the butchers were grouped together and you had them all displaying their goods and shouting their meaty deals at you as you walked passed. They’ve moved them elsewhere in the market now.
This screenprint was done by myself, Leeds based illustrator Simon Lewis, in 2017.
It has 5 colours, each layer colour comes from a detailed drawing with added brushstrokes, making it a very time consuming process, but one which I think gives the final image more depth and vibrancy.
