Suzanne McQuade

I was born in Yorkshire an I am currently living and working as a full-time artist in Leeds.

I have always had a strong desire to paint and create since childhood, and that desire never left me.

After many years working in a mundane job in customer service, five years ago I decided to take the plunge and paint full-time.

This gave me the opportunity to develop my skills and show my work in galleries, exhibitions and art fairs. That was five years ago and I have never regretted it. No more Monday morning blues!

I have a love for watercolours, it is my chosen medium. It still fascinates me letting the paint move and merge, creating its pattern. I use this pattern and turn it into some reality in my paintings, a bit like teamwork.

I am fascinated by the diversity of both our country and coast, and I aim to capture its beauty in all my work. Watercolour offers a wonderful translucency letting in light and tranquil effect which I hope reflects in my paintings.
