North Art is creating a CIC – Community Interest Company
We are lucky enough to have found our home in Chapel Allerton and are busy creating a programme to help the community.
Here are some of the things we are going to be doing.
- PAYF art activities
- We are a Leeds City Council Warm Space providing Pay as You Feel beverages and food every day.
- Providing an affordable, creative and safe space for mental health organisations (we are currently working with Aspire, the Leeds Early Intervention in Psychosis Service)
- Enterprise Support for our studio artists (we have supported our studio artists Monair with paid opportunities to design and facilitate PAYF art activities and curate art shows in the North Art building.
- Provide teaching opportunities for local artists and share skills with up and coming creatives
- Provide free artist talks relating to our current exhibitions to assist in engaging the local community in meaningful cultural dialogue
- Working with Not for Profit music organisations to provide accessible music events such as 7by7 that encourage individuals to communicate a story through playing music regardless of disability, sex or gender.
- Provision of low cost and supportive studio space on both a long term and daily basis
