Initially training as a textile designer, Vicky returned to her grass roots of drawing and painting. She has being working professionally since 2007 mostly on a private commission basis. Vicky specialises in animal portraits and over the last twelve years has accrued a large customer base both nationally and internationally. The medium Vicky prefers is acrylic paint although she is equally happy to work in pencil, pastel and gouache. Vicky has an innate ability to capture the depth of character of her subjects and her level of fine detail is truly exceptional.

A busy family life dictates that Vicky only works part time as an artist, she wouldn’t have it any other way; she is as passionate about her family as she is about her paintings. Living in a rural location in North Yorkshire enables Vicky to take inspiration from the rich colours, wildlife and space on her doorstep, she loves nothing more than spending time in the wilds with her family. Private commission work has seen Vicky working to full capacity for many years but now that her girls are a bit older she has found she can devote a little more time, and energy, to extending her work. So, when not working to commission, Vicky has indulged the creativity that bubbles beneath the surface producing paintings that have been done just for the hell of it, on a whim, just because she wants to. Favourites include vibrant, colour-rich landscapes that document favourite places and views, snapshots in time spent in the great outdoors. Also, beautiful studies of horses, dogs and wild African animals have further developed Vicky’s love of animal portraits. She has committed to creating stunning images in collaboration with international photographers that capture the artistic beauty of the subject, some of these paintings have been published as cards and prints, by Naturalpartnersart, and sell worldwide.

This is Vicky’s first exhibition, watch this space for more in the future.
